of lamb n planes

Am all burned up now. Of cos mum’s like freaking cos “kakak dah nak kahwin nie…kene jaga sikit muka tu”…but I was like…"rilek ma. It’s in 10 mths’ time for goodness sake”. Which is true. So I’m burned up. Big deal. Why are we (Asians) so caught up with being fair n white anyway?

Bumped into H friday evening..that strange weird (unbalanced?) guy we got to know from spider’s stint in desaru. I’ve been looking forward to catching up wif H for the longest time…but I was so glad to be rid of him. He talks too much. Really.

Had our little befday celebration at Ambrosia. By the time we got there it was already 10. I was having second thots cos as we went up the stairs leading to the 2nd floor I caught sight of a couple making out. Err…is this a sleazy make-out place or what? Was relieved to see that the rest of the patrons were normal people doing normal things. and surprise surprise…the guy making up the couple was his ex-student. Hahh!

We had Parmigiana Di Melzane (slices of baked eggplant layered with seasonings, herbs, salsa & cheese on Mediterranean salad) as appetizer, Lamb Mechoui (greek style marinated lamb cubes wif couscous & Mediterranean salad) for him and Kofta (fresh spiced lamb sausages served with yogurt salad, hummus bi tahina & couscous) for me. Kofta’s like the only thing we know how to pronounce. We gave up on the other 2 & just pointed to them on the menu. Hehhe.

Here’s our verdict: Food’s not too bad. Nice ambience. Service staff could do better. Overall ratings: 3.5 stars (out of 5)

Sunday was asian aerospace day. The aerial display’s a disappointment…it was so much better back in 2004. There weren’t any formations…just a few planes doing the same old tricks up in the air. We wised up from our last experience & caught the act outside the venue…near the saf ferry terminal. Much better view there definitely. The highlight of the aerial displays was the A380…kinda amusing seeing a huge gigantic aircraft lumbering its way around attempting to tilt this way n that. In fact, I would say that the A380 was the highlight of the whole event. Although the queue for the shuttle bus taking us to the west cargo apron (where the big crafts like the A380 were located) was very very super long, I was adamant in joining the queue just so I could take a look at it close up. Ended up queuing in the hot sun for an hour! I nearly wilted from all that sun. In fact, I nearly did, seeing as to how I was having blurred vision closer to the end.

I thot the A380 majestic. Spider thot it ugly. We both agreed (I think) it wasn’t worth all the queuing in the hot sun. At least we’re the picture of glowing health now. But that’s just another way of describing our sunburnt state :P
